Climate
Taranagar has dry climate with large variation
in temperature. The minimum and maximum temperature varies from 0.5
to 48.2 degree celsius The normal rainfall is only 32.8 cm.
History
The old name of
Taranagar wae Reni, a part of Jangladesh and capital of the Jakhar gotra jat, rulers prior to its annexation by the Rathor rulers. Taranagar also has an old Fort,
loaclly known as Gadh, that is now is being used as the Tehshil headqaurters and is surrounded by the market place.
Famous
person
Lots of people from Taranagar went out for business or
profession and settled in the far off citites of India. There are many NRTs from Taranagar who have excelled in their
business, industry and profession in other countries.
Banechand Kishanchand Chetandas Surana were callaed the seth of Taranagar. They
extended immense help to people by giving them money, grains, houses to live etc. In
the present generation Khem Chand, Prakash Chand, Kuldeep, Alok, Munni Devi and Kiran Surana have constructed one Hospital cum Maternity Home in the memory of their forefather Seth Chetandas Surana named Seth Chetandas Surana Swasthya Kendra and donated the same to Rajasthan Government. They helped to
build Taranagar like construction of roads, cattle homes, organising free health and treatment camps, etc.
Visiting places
Taranagar is very old village and famous for its temples, ancient
Havelies, paintings inside them and chatries. The wood work inside the hawelies is
excellent. he most famous temple in the village is Jain Mandir built in 942. It has very old statues of jain's thirthkars.
One another famous temple is Shiv Pandia. Its history is old as Dwapar
Yug. It is said that Kunti putra Bhima came there to call the pujari of temple, shiv pandia, for the Tilak
ceremony of Yudhisthira after winning the battle of Mahabharat.
A temple of Pir Ramdeoji, situated in midst of the town is worshipped by people from all the creeds and communities
