The old name of
Taranagar wae Reni, a part of Jangladesh and capital of the Jakhar gotra jat, rulers prior to its annexation by the Rathor rulers. The present name of the town is
Taranagar.
Taranagar is very old village and famous for its temples, ancient
Havelies, paintings inside them and chatries. The wood work inside the hawelies is
excellent. he most famous temple in the village is Jain Mandir built in 942. It has very old statues of jain's thirthkars and a history related to that.
One another famous temple is Shiv Pandia. Its history is old as Dwapar
Yug. It is said that Kunti putra Bhima came there to call the pujari of temple, shiv pandia, for the Tilak ceremony of Yudhisthira after winning the battle of Mahabharat.
