Salasar Balaji Dham
Salasar Balaji Dham is situated about 130 Kms from Jaipur and 350 Kms from Delhi on NH 65. Salasar is 57 kilometres from Sikar and
24 kilometers from Sujangarh (सुजानगढ़). It is in Sujangarh Panchayat Samity.
There is no railway station at Salasar. Sujangarh, Sikar, Jaipur are the nearest railhead to Salasar. Nearest Airport is Jaipur. Salasraji
is connected by road to major towns and cities of Rajasthan. Buses run
from Delhi - Jaipur - Sikar - Salasar and daily bus services from Delhi - Jaipur - Delhi are operated by DTC, Haryana Roadways and
Rajasthan Roadways. Salasar is a village in Churu
District (चूरू जिला) of Rajasthan [राजस्थान] in India famous for Salasar Balaji temple.

is a very famous temple of Lord Hanuman (श्री हनुमान) and worshipped all over northern India and
particularly very popular among people of northwestern Rajasthan, states of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi.
On Chaitra Shukla Chaturdashi and Purnima - Lacs of devotees arrive here on Sri Hanuman Jayanti from every corner of the country. Two
other major fairs are held on Ashwin Shukla Chaturdashi and Purnima :- Lacs of devotees use to come in this fair. The second fair on
Bhadrapad Shukla Chaturdashi and Purnima. In these fairs free food and sweet drinks are distributed to devotees by many welfare organisations..
History
In samvat 1811, Shravan Shukla-Navami in a small
village Asota in district Nagaur (Rajsthan) a farmer was ploughing his field. Suddenly his plough was hit by some stony
thing with a sound. He dug that place and found and Idol covered with sand. When he and his wife cleaned the idol, they found the
idol of Balaji i.e. Lord Hanuman. They bow their head with devotion and worshipped Lord Balaji. Soon the news of appearance of Lord Balaji
spread in the village Asota. The Thakur of Asota also heard the news and send the idol to Salasar in the Churu district. At the
same night a devotee of Lord Hanuman, Mohandasji of Salasar saw Lord Hanuman or Balaji in dream. Lord Balaji told him about the idol of
asota. He immediately send a massage to Thakur of Asota. The thakur
fulfilled the wishes of Mohandasji. The idol sent to Salasar and was fixed there. That is now Salasar Dham.
The temple of Salasar Balaji was initially a hut but
gradually developed in concrete. Around the temple there is Dhunia of Mohandas ji. Here the holy fire lit by great devtoee Mohandas ji is
still burning. The devotees take holy ashes from here. There is Sri Mohan Mandir near Balaji temple. The foot print of Mohandasji and
Kanidadi is here. One more Temple of Anjani Mata is situated two
kilometers away from Salasar Dham toward Luxmangarh Road. Anjani Mata
was mother of Lord Hanuman of Balaji. One more temple of Gudavadi Shyam is one kilometer away from Salasar.
Salasarji Balaji is a great pilgrimage of Lord hanuman in India. It is said that every desire of devotee is fulfilled by Lord Balaji.
Several lacs of devotees reach here every year from every corner of India for Dharsna.
Salasar Lakhhi Mela
Every year a big Mela (Balaji festival) or Lakhhi Mela is
held on Shard Purnima. This year the Lakhhi Mela being held on October
29, 2012 on the day of Shard Purnima. Several Lakhs devotees from Haryana, Punjab, Gujrat, Rajasthan and other parts of the
country visits Salasar Dham to pay their respect to salasar Balaji (Lord hanuman) |
