Rainy Season in Mumbai
Rainy season is the most enjoyable and happening season in
Mumbai. The whole agriculture depends upon the Celsius of the rain. Less rain leads to detoriation whereas excess rain destroys the agricultural land. But more than all of these, rains are enjoyable. But like everything it has some merits and demerits.
Merits are : Regular water Supply, Forestation
Demerits are: Potholes on roads, Destroy agriculture,
Traffic jam, Out spell of water from dams, Overflow drainage systems and shuts few traveling modes.

Railways get affected by its slow movements in Mumbai
Mumbai does enjoy rainy season a lot but only in the beginning of it as more rains always distract mumbaikars and their fast life. If we talk about all the three modes of travels, railways get affected by its slow movements and few cancellation of train schedule; roadways get affected by many potholes on the roads of Mumbai and few vehicles purposely or unintentionally splash the road water on the people walking besides on footpath; and lastly airways get affected by few cancellations of flights and delayed schedule.
Few Mumbaikars take this rain as an enjoy moments and go for some outings at nearby spots and hill stations which are famous during rainy season such as Lonavala, Khandala, Matharan, Bhandhardhara, Tungareshwar and similar places.
The areas of Mumbai that get affected during rainy season are Sion, Kurla, other Central Mumbai and low lying areas. Bandra’s Mithi Nadi is still undercontruction of Municipal Corporation for its development to stop the overflow of its water. Slums, ground floor of buildings which are low lying face overflow or road water expel at their house. Old Buildings and shops face more difficulties during rainy season due to leakage problems of roof and walls. |
