According to
NASSCOM the IT and ITWs sector is estimeted to log in revenues of
36.3 billion dollar during 2005-06, a growth of 28 % then last year.
The domestic software market will grow from Rs. 3,643 crore to Rs.
7,473 crore between 2005 and 2009. The number of people working in
domestic IT sector grown from 318,000 in 2004 to 365,000 in 2006.
The Indian IT industry is booming and number of vacancies
increasing every day. Hundreds of multinational firms will
come to India, creating room for thousands of jobs. The number of IT
professionals India churns out every year may not be enough to meet
the growing demand. This year, IBM announced that it would hire an
additional 14,000 people, Infosys is likely to hire 13,500 people.
Wipro and TCS are also expected to recruit the same number of
people.
